IPPS-A Mobile App

The Army has launched the Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army mobile app. The new mobile capability offers Soldiers the flexibility to operate on the go while granting Commanders and HR Professionals visibility of personnel actions with a level of transparency never before possible.

BAMC Troop Command military human resource (HR) professionals have worked on the app for over a year. The app uses technology comparable to secure banking and personal service apps to allow Soldiers to submit help inquiries and monitor their personnel actions from a smartphone or tablet.

What is IPPS-A Mobile App?

The Integrated Personnel and Pay System – Army mobile app allows Soldiers to operate on the move and access their personnel records using their smartphone or tablet. The Army said it uses technology comparable to secure banking and personal service apps. It is the first time an Army human resources system has offered this type of capability.

The app also allows Soldiers to submit help inquiries, request record updates and monitor the status of their actions without an in-person trip to a personnel office. The Army said that transactions are automated, paper-free and transparent from initiation to approval. Commanders and HR Professionals can use their elevated roles on a DoD smartphone or CAC reader to review, approve or deny transactions from anywhere, the Army said.

TRADOC’s mobile team completed the screening process and app approval for IPPS-A on Jan. 18, 2019, and it was made available to National Guard Soldiers in Pennsylvania, Virginia and Washington, D.C. The app will be rolled out to the remaining active-duty, Reserve and Army National Guard regions according to the IPPS-A 2019 Release 2 fielding timeline.

The app is available on the Apple Store for iOS devices and on Google Play for Android smartphones or tablets. The Army is collecting feedback to improve the app, the Army announced.
